I'm so glad to hear that you are all
doing so well! I love the pictures and I love hearing about everyone! It gives
me strength to move forward with my work!
This week was great. Pat P. is
scheduled for baptism this next Tuesday! Which is tomorrow! We are so excited
for that! We had a good lesson with her, and as well as a team-up, which is
great because we don't get those as often as we would like. We found more
less-active members that we hadn't met before and we are now teaching Megan M.
again! She lives with the Beyer’s. She asked us to teach her the lessons
and I was quite shocked honestly. We had prayed so hard for new
investigators and to have the strength to talk to everyone and find those who
are searching, and at the end of the day, Megan asked us to teach her. I
ceased to be amazed at the miracles Heavenly Father gives us. We are SO
blessed.
We were able to do lots of service
this week! Which is always so great. We volunteered at the nursing home and they
had a Red Hat's Society lunch, which we helped with. It was so fun. They have
too much fun there, which is good :) We were able to help members with yard
work and also help some non-members move! Great opportunity for inviting to
learn about the gospel! Which we did, and we were rejected, but it is a-okay.
Part of the job description.
Me, Sister Shurtleff, and Sister
Turner are just as great as ever. We don't have any problems together and
I just love them! They are both such wonderful people and great examples to me!
This week I have learned the power of
following the spirit. With OYM, in lessons and everywhere. Promptings are
SO important! It is everything! It's the Lord telling us what we need to do. I
am not good at following the spirit! And I have seen first hand what the
effects are if you don't follow it, and if you do. The effects are
significant. If we don't act on those promptings, how do we expect to
help people find the truth in which they are searching for? (D&C 123:12) I
have seen such drastic changes in my teaching and myself when I follow them and
when I don't follow promptings. They are oh, so important.
Other than that, it was a great week!
This is hard work out here, really hard. I've learned the impact of personal
example and personal testimony, how strong that can be. It's giving me
confidence in myself that I can make a difference, still working on that, but I’m
getting there. It's crazy how much you grow on your mission. I've learned
so much and I’m continuing to learn SO much.
I just miss y'all SO much. I love
y'all so much. I don't have much else to say! The days are long but the weeks
are short. I came to a realization that I am so blessed to be a missionary. So
many people's lives are SO messed up! It’s crazy. I love you guys so much.
Love always,
Sister Burr
