Airport Phone Call
On Tuesday, August 24th, Lindsi was at the airport, waiting in the long line to use the calling card and pay phone. It was getting closer and closer to her time to board her plane, and thankfully, a very generous airline employee let her borrow a cell phone so she could call her mom and dad. She said she loved the MTC and that she has learned so much. All of the Elders in her district were heading out to Hawaii and and all the Sisters were heading to Tennessee. She was nervous to get on a plane, but was very excited, too. She said her P Day was every Monday and she couldn't wait to check her emails and see how everyone is doing. Send her some emails and letters!

Week One of the MTC
Life at the MTC is CRAZY!! The first day I get here, they pull me from my family and off I go. They take me to get my tags and stuff. AHH I'm Sister Burr now. It's pretty weird introducing myself as that. Then I meet my companion. She is so freaking gorgeous, tall and complete opposite as me. She has taught me a lot of stuff. I'm a patient person but she has taught me to be even more patient. ANYWAY. I meet the people in my district (people i see every day in my classroom. Pretty much like a sunday school class. We do everything together.) and they are soo great. :) There is Elder Naumu (now-oo-moo) he's Hawaiian, and Elder Miller, Elder Smith and Elder Painter, Elder Burk and Elder Horsley, Elder Kirk and Elder Choo (Chew) but everyone is like I choo you! to him, or everyone get on the choo choo train! or anyone want a hi-choo? hahaha it is SOO funny. :) And all the Elders in my district are going to HAWAII!! So jealous. And then there is Sister Benge and Sister Tomlinson.
My companions name is Sister Little and both of our first names are Lindsi! but she spells it Lindsay. haha funny!
I seriously love it here at the MTC! The spirit is here 24/7 and I love it soo much! It's really hard though. We sit every day in our class rooms for like 9 hours and just learn!! I have 16 hour days!! I get up at 6:30 every morning, get ready, study, eat breakfast, have additional study time, then have class from 9:50-1:50. then have lunch. then have class from 2:35-5:35 then dinner then we have either gym, study time, a devotional or something. We have schedules for every day and I get soo freaking tired at the end of the day. But at least I go to bed at 10:30 every night. :) It's nice! Oh and we study before bed too. We do A LOT of studying! haha.
It's seriously so great here. I was feeling so inadequate the first couple days. It was really hard. They teach you so much! Everyone says it's like drinking from a fire hose because they give you so much info. But I've learned a lot about teaching and I'm not a very good teacher, but I know the Lord wants me here for a reason. I need to be here and teach people and I've learned that the spirit is the real teacher. Without the spirit, people don't get converted. I don't know how people join the church without it. I have an Investigator named Jen and she doesn't have any religious background and she doesn't believe in God. it's been hard teaching her because she wouldn't pray. But we asked her to and she finally did. The spirit is so strong here and I love it :) I could NOT do this without the Lord.
